Yeah, I know, bowling isn't the most physical sport, but staying fit
can really increase your game. Bowling takes a lot of form, and
repetitive motion, which can lead to fatigue. A physically fit
bowler will always have an advantage against other less fit players.
Cardiovascular exercises such as jogging or cycling will improve your
stamina.
Bowling takes a lot of coordination, a good exercise for increasing
balance and coordination is the cross crawl. Stand with your feet
about shoulder width apart. Raise your right knee to your chest and
cross your left arm over your knee, then do the same with your left
knee and right arm. Do this over and over again. This is a great
way to warm up before you begin to bowl, and you can build balance
and coordination as well.
Stretching is always a good idea, you want to really stretch out your
bowling arm, as well as your legs.
Weight lifting is great as well, upper body as well as lower body.
This will give you the power and stamina you need to win.

Bowling Techniques - Picking the right ball
Picking the right ball is important, almost as important as form.
You want the ball to feel heavy, but not too heavy, after all, you're
going to have to be slinging it down the lane all day.
Even more important than weight, is the size of the finger holes.
Make sure that you fingers fit into the holes easily, you want to be
able to grip the ball, but on release, you want the ball to slide
off of your fingers easily.
Use insert tape in the finger holes to allow for a better grip.

Bowling Techniques - Know the rules.
If your serious about bowling, then you'll want to know the rules,
especially if you plan on playing in a tournament. I know the rules
are boring, but you might be surprised at some of the rules you may
have never known.
Even if you just like to bowl with your friends, nothing really
serious, it's still a good idea to know some of the basic rules.
There are a lot of them so I can't really list them here,
but you can check them out in detail at the United States Bowling Congress
website.

Bowling Techniques - The science behind the hook
If you want to improve your bowling techniques, then your going to have to master the hook. It definitely takes some practice, and patience. I know how frustrating it can be when you've been practicing your butt off on a certain technique and you can't seem to improve. I came across a pretty interesting video on YouTube that shows the physics behind how the hook actually works. I figure knowing the actual science behind how a hook works is the first step to improving your bowling techniques, and improving your score.
